Nymeria helps Arya pack

This is the first time we see Nymeria.

Arya is in her chambers, packing things for her trip to King’s Landing. Nymeria is assisting her. The direwolf grabs a piece of clothing on the chair and brings it over to Arya who places it in her luggage.

Arya Stark: Thank you, Nymeria.

Jon, who does not knock, opens the door and comes in to say goodbye before he leaves for the Night’s Watch. Arya turns to see who it is as she tries to fold her clothing.

Arya Stark (to Jon):  Septa Mordane says I have to do it again. “My things weren’t properly folded”, she says. Who cares how they’re folded?! They’re going to get all messed up anyway.

She throws the piece of clothing into the luggage.

Jon Snow: It’s good you’ve got help.

Arya Stark: Watch.

Arya stands straight.

Arya Stark: Nymeria, gloves.

Nymeria  looks at her and does nothing.

Jon Snow: Impressive.

Arya Stark: Shut up.

Arya raises her voice.

Arya Stark: Nymeria, gloves!

Again, Nymeria only looks at Arya.

Jon gives Arya a present

Jon Snow: I have something for you. And it has to be packed very carefully.

Arya smiles.

Arya Stark: A present?

Jon Snow: Close the door.

While Arya goes to close the door, Jon places the package on her bed and unwraps the sword that Mikken had fashioned earlier.

Jon Snow:  This is no toy. Be careful you don’t cut yourself.

Jon unsheathes it, and hands it to Arya who looks closely at the blade.

Arya Stark: It’s so skinny.

Jon Snow: So are you.

Jon smiles.

Jon Snow:  I had the blacksmith make it for you special. It won’t hack a man’s head off, but it can poke him full of holes if you’re quick enough.

Arya Stark: I can be quick.

Jon Snow: You’ll have to work at it every day.

Arya continues to inspect her new sword.

Jon Snow:  How does it feel? Do you like the balance?

Arya Stark: I think so.

Jon put his arm around Arya’s neck making eye to eye contact with her.

Jon Snow: First lesson: Stick them with the pointy end.

Arya Stark: I know which end to use.

Jon smiles again.

Jon Snow: I’m going to miss you.

Arya reaches toward Jon (with the sword still in her hand) about to give him a hug.

Jon Snow: Careful…

Arya places the sword on the bed, and jump into the arms of Jon giving him a big hug. Jon returns the hug.

Arya gives her sword a name

Jon Snow: All the best swords have names, you know.

Arya Stark: Sansa can keep her sewing needles. I’ve got a needle of my own.

Jon smiles a third time.

Winterfell is the seat of the ruler of the North and the traditional home of House Stark. It is a very large castle located at the center of the North, from where the head of House Stark rules over his people.

The castle is located alongside the Kingsroad as it makes its way from the Wall to the capital at King's Landing, more than a thousand miles to the south.
